eMikolo Pops out Above Radar - No Longer Stealth

P2P Tracker - 11/2/2001

No longer veiled behind a composite shell, eMikolo has stepped out from stealth mode in a big way by announcing its first product at DEMO 2001. One of only 75 companies invited to participate at the annual technology
showcase, eMikolo will demonstrate its Demand Driven Access(tm) (DDA) caching technology.

Targeted initially at "old economy" web site operators and hosting services, DDA is designed to improve the performance of content delivery, particularly audio and video streams through a unique combination of peer-to-peer
networking and intelligent caching. The company estimates performance gains of up to 400% can be achieved through the use of DDA.

eMikolo's selection by the 10-year-old DEMO forum illustrates the growing spotlight being shown on P2P technology companies. The announcement is a minor coup for the DEMO forum, stealing at least one of several coming outs that were anticipated at the upcoming O'Reilly conference in San Francisco later in the week. Other P2P companies invited to participate at DEMO 2001 include Xdegrees and OpenDesign, both also expected to demonstrate infrastructure services.

Clearly the DEMO people were happy with the circumstances as a statement on the eMikolo Web site by executive producer Chris Shipley DEMOnstrated, "Our
selection process is rigorous and I firmly believe that eMikolo Network's technology is truly disruptive and has the potential to transform the way content is distributed." Disruptive, indeed.
