Jerusalem based company Alchemedia (formerly cSafe) has raised $17.5 million in third financing round from Washington based Carlyle Group. Alchemedia has not disclosed the company value, but it is estimated at $70 million, after money.

Alemedia develops technology that protects digital pictures from being copied or printed, enabling e-commerce and data companies to present information while protecting their commercial interests, such as intellectual property rights.

The Carlyle group will place on Alchemedia's board of directors Carlyle Internet Partners Europe acting general manager Tim Jackson, who founded QXL.com and was a correspondent for "The Economist" and "Independent". Other members of the board are general partner of Israel Seed Limited Partners Michael Eisenberg, who invested in Alchemedia's first round, and Check Point CEO Dr. Deborah Rieman.
