Alchemedia Raises $17.5 Mln in Third Round from US Carlyle Group

Jerusalem based company Alchemedia (formerly cSafe) has raised $17.5 million
in third financing round from Washington based Carlyle Group. Alchemedia has
not disclosed the company value, but it is estimated at $70 million, after
money.
Alemedia develops technology that protects digital pictures from being
copied or printed, enabling e-commerce and data companies to present
information while protecting their commercial interests, such as
intellectual property rights.
The Carlyle group will place on Alchemedia's board of directors Carlyle
Internet Partners Europe acting general manager Tim Jackson, who founded
QXL.com and was a correspondent for "The Economist" and "Independent". Other
members of the board are general partner of Israel Seed Limited Partners
Michael Eisenberg, who invested in Alchemedia's first round, and Check Point
CEO Dr. Deborah Rieman.
