VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AT&T; Wireless chose a Foxcom
Wireless system for the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Foxcom Wireless, a
market leader in providing in-building coverage solutions, will provide
equipment for PCS coverage in the Pennsylvania Convention Center for AT&T;
Wireless.
AT&T; Wireless installed the system to provide coverage where current
repeaters did not cover. Via a fiberoptic backbone, a Foxcom Wireless
system, will enable the enhanced coverage.
The Pennsylvania Convention Center is a blend of art and history located in
the heart of Philadelphia. The Foxcom Wireless solution will both enhance
the viability of the convention center and allow a high level of PCS
coverage and clarity to be provided.
Providing clear and consistent coverage for cellular and PCS phones in
structures is a challenge, and with wireless usage becoming more common, the
importance of reaching this market is growing. Foxcom Wireless' patented
wireless signal transmission system, the Litenna(TM), provides wireless
access for subscribers inside any structure. Sending the cellular or PCS
signal from the base station via fiberoptic cables to rooms and hallways
throughout both private and public facilities, enhances reception and
increases capacity for any cellular/PCS network. The site will be supported
by AT&T; Wireless' PCS service, making reliable wireless coverage and
capacity possible.
Services offered over cellular/PCS devices are multiplying: including
Internet, and Data message transfer using SMS and WAP technologies. Designed
for future needs, the Litenna system not only provides coverage to all types
of structures, but is also easily upgradable to include multi-services and
upper bands, making it 3G ready. The Litenna is compliant for wireless data,
supports GPRS, EDGE, and CDPD technologies.
Yehuda Holtzman, Vice President Foxcom Wireless Inc. said, "Foxcom Wireless
systems are already extensively deployed throughout North America, and we
are looking forward to further cooperation with AT&T; Wireless to provide
customers consistent indoor coverage."
