By Ella Jacoby-Bashan
Israeli start-up Earthnoise.com, which operates a virtual community site for
video material, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with
RealNetworks of the US for the provision of editing and distribution
solutions for Internet audio/video material.
The agreement will lead to the integration of the technology developed by
Earthnoise.com in RealCreator, an application for creating content for the
US company's RealPlayer software, used for viewing video over the Internet.
Nasdaq-listed RealNetworks, and traded at a company value of $5 billion,
transmits Internet audio/video broadcasts to over 100 million subscribers
worldwide. The company is regarded as the largest Internet company in the
audio/video field. Estimates say the company controls some 85% of the
world's Internet music media.
The world's largest ISP, AOL, participated in the $7.6 million financing
round Earthnoise.com recently held.
