Israel's Earthnoise.com Raises $7.6 Mln, Including Investment by AOL

Israeli start-up company Earthnoise.com announced that it had raised $7.6
million. The group of investors, includes America Online. Company value for
the financing round was not disclosed, but is estimated at $40 million,
after money.
Other investors in the financing round include Israeli venture capital fund
Israel Seed Partners and US funds Attractor Investors Entertainment, Audax
Group, Media Ventures and Pario Ventures, which belongs to Omnicom, the
world's biggest advertising company.
Earthnoise.com enables surfers to webcast their video movies. The company
combines technology with content produced by customers, and constructs a
virtual community.
Elan Dekel, Doron Friedman, Adam Siegel, Amnon Dekel and Shai Peretz set up
Earthnoise.com in June 1999. Its general manager is David Steward, former
president and general manager of US TV Guide. Earthnoise.com has a main
office in New York, an R&D; center in Tel Aviv and a business development
office in San Francisco. The company employs about 60 staff.
