DealTime Brings $10 Million to Merchants

JANUARY 20, 2000 - Comparison shopping services seem to becoming a more integral part of the
e-commerce mix. Comparison site DealTime.com, for example, directed more
than $10 million in sales to its 2,300 affiliated online merchants last
December and recorded more than 2.4 unique users for the past holiday
season. "Sites like DealTime.com drive monthly traffic, sales and customers
to online retailers," commented Ted Toledano, CIO of DealTime merchant
Brandsmall.com, adding that comparison sites are much more effective at
producing higher conversion rates. Looking to the future, DealTime has
partnered with ShoppingList.com, which will enable DealTime users to search
prices at offline merchants.
