Business Layers Raises $4.5 Mln

Start-up company Business Layers today announced that it had raised $4.5
million. Sources in Business Layers, which develops Internet infrastructure
solutions, pointed out the importance of the fact that the investors brought
added value. In addition to Gemini, investors included Shlomo Kramer (one of
the founders of CheckPoint), venture capital fund Israel Seed Partners,
Formula Ventures, and entrepreneur Igal Jacobi.
"Gemini is currently one of the leading venture capital funds in Israel,"
Business Layers president Izhar Shay said, "and it has significant
connections and experience on the international market. Shlomo Kramer is a
partner to one of the most significant successes of Israeli high-tech."
Business Layers was set up at the beginning of 1999 by Shay, together with
entrepreneurs Avi Zamir, Amir Weinstein and David Levanda. The company now
has 30 employees. Its marketing and sales offices are in New Jersey, US, and
its development center is in Israel.
