DealTime Sets for the Holidays
DemoLetter Weekly Edition
October 18, 1999, Volume 4, Number 31
As consumers flock to the Internet this holiday shopping season, the
comparison shopping sites are gearing up to help bargain hunters find the
best buys. Among the companies bolstering its offerings is DealTime.com,
which has added new product categories to its comparative shopping and deal
monitoring and notification system. While many of the comparison shopping
sites focus on consumer electronics and other commodity products, DealTime
is stepping into new territory with a decided gift-giving quality: flowers,
jewelry, toys, pets, and the like.
And what may be the first indication that buying sites will consolidate in
the coming months, DealTime has signed agreements with Accompany and Zwirl,
giving DealTime access to those buying sites. And soon, DealTime will add
product decision-support services developed by Active Research.
DealTime claims to be the most used comparison shopping service, citing
nearly 1 million visitors in September.
