VCON streaming video software honored

(dbusiness.com) - Video conferencing equipment and software maker VCON Inc.,
has been recognized as "Best of Show" for streaming video software at an
industry conference in Las Vegas. VCON's software is used for
videoconferencing, and is as an add-on option for the company's desktop
conferencing systems. VCON Telecommunications Ltd. (www.vcon.com) is a
developer and manufacturer of videoconferencing systems for ISDN and IP
networks. VCON is an Israeli company with U.S. headquarters in Austin. With
subsidiaries in Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom VCON competes directly
with Austin-based VTEL and Calif.-based Polycom. The company moved to Austin
in May from Dallas. It has more than 50 employees in Austin and 100
nationwide. The company's sells to government agencies including the
University of South Florida, University of South Carolina, the Texas
Education Agency, the U.S. Army, Houston-based Harkin Energy Corp., Chico,
Calif.-based Landacorp, England-based Manchester Computing and Freeborn &
Peters law firm in Chicago.
