Finjan sells security software to US entertainment co

The $600,000 deal follows the sale of the product to a US defense organization a few weeks ago.

Finjan Software, a developer of computer security software, has sold its security software product to a US entertainment corporation. The $600,000 deal follows the multi-million dollar sale of the product to a US defense organization a few weeks ago.
Finjan sells proactive active content defense for computers, servers and Java applications against malicious mobile codes, such as viruses. Finjan also integrates its solutions with McAfee's anti-virus engine and Blue Coat Systems' (Nasdaq:BSCI) content filters.
Founded in 1996 by CEO Shlomo Touboul, Finjan has raised $23 million to date in four financing rounds. The company's shareholders include Apax Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, Benchmark Capital, Israel Seed Partners, and Star Ventures Enterprises. Finjan acquired Israeli start-up Alchemedia Technologies, also one of Israel Seed's portfolio companies that develops digital content protection solutions, a few months ago. Finjan has 73 employees at its Netanya and San Jose offices.
