Pelephone Communications Selects XACCT's N2B Platform to Streamline Back-office Operations
|TEL AVIV, Israel & SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 2003—
Israel's Leading Mobile Operator Reduces OpEx by Consolidating Voice & Data Mediation on to a Single Converged Platform
|XACCT Technologies, a leading provider of network data management platform for global communications service providers, today announced that Pelephone Communications, Israel's leading mobile operator, has purchased XACCT's Network-to-Business(R) (N2B(R)) platform to optimize its voice and data mediation operations. After an extensive evaluation process Pelephone selected XACCT's multi-service convergent mediation platform to consolidate several of its existing mediation solutions including the current proprietary voice, data and settlement mediation solutions. XACCT's partner in Israel, Xpert Integrated Systems, Ltd. is responsible for design and deployment of the Pelephone installation.
Pelephone Communications, the first mobile operator in Israel, with NAMPS analog, and CDMA 1X services -- has, over the years, accumulated several different stove-pipe solutions to handle its mediation needs. Pelephone concluded that none of their existing solutions was suitable or cost-effective for its 3rd generation network, especially for new data services. Pelephone evaluated several options and chose XACCT's N2B platform as a strategic component of its back-office infrastructure because it allowed them to streamline its existing operation, quickly and cost-effectively, as well as provides a convergent network data management platform for future generation data, video and voice applications. Pelephone, with agreements with several local and international operators, will also use XACCT platform to process multiple data-feeds, to and from the partners, to support inter-carrier settlements.
"We selected XACCT's platform in order to help us in broadening our service offerings quickly and cost-effectively," remarked Eran Shafir, Director of Billing and Customer Care at Pelephone Communications. "By consolidating several different stand-alone mediation solutions on to a single platform will allow us to optimize our back-office operation efficiency and reduce associated operational costs."
Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
XACCT's Universal Network Data Management(TM) solutions extend beyond the boundaries of traditional mediation solutions found in the marketplace. Its highly distributed modular architecture is designed for performance, functionality, flexibility and expandability. This Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) platform is specifically engineered to accommodate changes in carriers' networks, business logic, and service offerings in response to ever-changing competitive landscape and operational budgets. It helps carriers to future-proof their back-office infrastructure. The result: significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to the legacy one-off, custom developed solutions being used by the many carriers today.
XACCT's N2B platform will enable Pelephone to consolidate the mediation functions for their current 2G as well as 3G services over their analog and digital networks. In addition, it will enable Pelephone to track, in real time, all data types across its entire network including ring-tones, SMS, MMS, mobile Internet and games, allowing the carrier to centralize critical business processes, with real time access to the network data, such as auditing, error management and other revenue assurance activities. The XACCT platform will also provide Pelephone with a flexible framework for advanced analytics, CRM and traffic engineering applications.
"We are proud that Pelephone chose our N2B platform to unify their mediation functions," said Eric Gries, President and CEO of XACCT Technologies. "Carriers around the globe are under tremendous pressure to reduce their operational expenses. At same time, they must upgrade their back-office infrastructure to take advantage of new high-margin services. Over 70 carriers have chosen XACCT to do just that."
